Why „Anthony´s“?
The name of our bar has a family origin. Both the father and grandfather of the current hotel management were named “Anton” and played a key role in rebuilding the hotel after the war.
The vaulted cellar that houses the bar continues into an adjacent labyrinth of old wine cellars, storage rooms, and utility spaces that are still part of the hotel today. As recently as the 1960s, this area held massive, ceiling-high barrels used for storing the hotel’s own handcrafted “Waldlust Apple Wine.”
This small section of the cellar was transformed into Anthony’s Bar in 1987.
